Schreiber & Sohne barrel smaller

I recently bought a Schreiber & Sohne clarinet and when I got it one thing I noticed is that neither the mouthpiece that came with it, *which was not the same name as instument* nor any of my other mouthpieces seem to fit into it. It fit tightly onto the body of the clarinet, which is one piece, pretty snug, but the inside was several thousandth smaller than a normal Evette Buffet or Bundy barrel. WAS. I make Duduks out of square pieces of apricot wood with my lathe.... so... I chuck the barrel into the lathe and use sandpaper to open up the portion that fits the mouthpiece. PERFECT fit now. Smells funny, kind of brown so I would belive it is made of hard rubber.

Are German clarinets different in the mouthpieces?

Yes the German tenon sizes are different to French and I believe even in Germany there are 2 slightly different tenon sizes.
