The Woodwind.org Buffet serial number date list http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Buffet.html ends with 439774, made in 1997.
Steve Grover's list http://www.eatonrapidsjunkbarn.com/reference/serialnumbers/BuffetCrampon.htm gives the numbers up through 2003, which begins with 511633.
The Buffet site http://www.buffet-crampon.com/en/instruments.php goes up through 570040, made in January 2007.
I've gone through the Buffet site and found the following:
2004 begins with 525536
2005 begins with 538863
2006 begins with 554051
2007 begins with 568786
During that period, serial numbers increased by about 17,000 per year. Thus:
2008 begins with approximately 585800
2009 begins with approximately 602800
2010 begins with approximately 619800
2011 begins with approximately 636800
2012 begins with approximately 653800
There are irregularities in the Buffet lookup, with dates scrambled, but these numbers should be fairly close.
Happy researching.

This may be slightly off-topic, but I used Buffet-Crampon's search function to find my clarinets by serial number, and while my B flat is listed, my A is not. From the year-ranges given here I can see that it was made sometime in 2008, but BC seems to have no record of it. Any thoughts on why?

EBC -
Let me know the serial number and I'll see what I can find.

Eric -
As I noted, the Buffet site goes only through 570040, made in January 2007. The years after that are my own calculation, based on Buffet's production of about 17,000 clarinets per year. They're in no way official. We all wish that Buffet would update their list more frequently, but it doesn't seem to be a way to goose them.

Sorry Ken,
I apparently did a selective reading of your original post. I completely missed the sentence where you pointed out the Buffet list only goes up to 2007.
Thanks anyway,
Eric

Would this mean that my R13 with serial number 519254 was likely manufactured in 2003?

Re-launching this old post to ask if serials are available after 2000?

The initial post goes to 2012, so I'd say the answer is yes. Extrapolating the rest should get you in the ballpark.
