Hello everyone, I'm a 14 year old clarinetist from Portugal and I created a channel on Youtube. I've upload some videos and I would like to know your opinion about them. The link is this :

I am impressed, EAClarinet. Mature playing from a 14 year old, certainly. Thank you for sharing.

Your technique is at a high level. I'm sorry that you are playing in a room that is so live, because it distorts the sound of both instruments. What I say below is not meant to dash your hopes--I think you've made real progress on the work; at your age and level of skill, your future is without limit.

I confess that I am not a fan of von Weber, though, of his works for clarinet, the first concerto stands above the others. von Weber was an opera composer; I think that his concerti are grand opera for the featured instrument. You tend to play mechanically--your phrasing is not vocal and you don't seem to attenuate the long line of phrases. I detected abrupt endings. You might consider listening to some opera, even some arias...and not just von Weber's. Pavarotti sang lots of stuff, but so did Fisher Diskau and other great singers.

The liveness of the room, no doubt, blurred your dynamics, so I hope you're not playing everything at forte level. Have you listened to any recordings by the late Harold Wright, who the Boston Globe said "stole sound from silence." He recorded for Boston Records.

best wishes

I think this is great work, especially for 14. I commend your for memorizing!

My only comment would be this: Is there really a need to move so much? It really detracts from what you are doing (for you and the audience).

Thank you very much for your comments ! Well the dinamics I really think that is from the room but thanks for your advice, I'm going try to listen to Harold Wright recording.
About how much I move , it's very personal. I feel the music and I have a tendency to move very much and don't think that is wrong.. bu thank you very much for your comment !
