Hello; I'm intending to purchase a Bb clarinet, and I'm looking at the
Festival as well as the RC Prestige. I'd like to hear out more opinions
with regard to the differences in terms of timbre and playability? i know
every horn is unlikely to be the same but even general comparisons would
help a lot. Currently using a Buffet RC.

 Thanks,
 Gerald.

I tried every buffet model two years ago, and to be honest, my very favorite was the R13 Prestige. Of these two, I thought the festival felt constricting and much preferred the RC prestige.

Personally I feel that in terms of playability, the clarinets of the R13 family tend to be rather resistant as you need to "force" the air out of the bell;straight in the way it plays and focuses more on projection as compared to the RC family which feels more free blowing.

In terms of tone, I can't say I've played them long enough to make an unbiased judgement though. I've heard that the festival tends to have a sweeter/warmer sound? Please correct me if i'm wrong

i dont try a festival but I have a rc prestige and I love it. Its like gms wrote.
I known that are amazing clarinets but I dont change mine for nothing. I have an A r13 clarinet and I think that the sound is so different. I plan to change just my A clarinet maybe for rc prestige or a tosca but will take a time
