TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 2, "Little Russian"
STL Symphony Principal Cello Danny Lee performs the exquisite melodies of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, a lasting tribute to his beloved sister-in-law. Toronto Symphony music director Peter Oundjian leads one of Tchaikovsky’s most joyous works, his Second Symphony. The exuberant work is full of folk melodies from the Ukraine, a country frequently referred to as “Little Russia” in Tchaikovsky’s day.
