 Help ID a jazz piece

I heard this on the radio. It's a clarinet feature with big band, there are no other soloists and no vocal. It's about 2:40 minutes long and very fast, mm=168. At about 1:50 there is a classical style cadenza. Much of the piece is just clarinet and bass. It isn't swing but sounds kind of like bebop. The clarinetist sounds classically trained- nice sound, clean staccato, clean technique. I know it's not the Artie Shaw Concerto, Benny Rides Again, or Clarinet a la King. ¿Does anyone have any ideas on what it might be?

You're kidding. Other than saying, judged by the timing of the piece, it was made for a 78 rpm recording, it's next to impossible to give you a definitive answer.

Google for Online Song Identifier. http://www.midomi.com/ has worked well for me.

MelDex identifies melodies based on whether the line moves up or down http://dlib.org/dlib/may97/meldex/05witten.html.

From the vague information given, I'd look for some of Jimmy Hamilton's features with Duke Ellington.

Heck, even if you don't find it, you'll get to check out some superiour clarinet playing.

There are a huge number of possibilities on what it could have been. Your best bet might be to simply call the radio station and ask if they can provide you with the play list from that day.
