I am thinking of Clark Fobes CWF mouthpiece and I'd like to hear if someone has an experience with this mouthpiece.
Thanks, Dino

I just recently got one of these mouthpieces last week. After a week or so of practicing and playing with my HS wind ensemble, I'd say it's relatively similar to the Vandoren M15, with the long facing and close tip. The big difference between them to me is that the CWF is more responsive, and plays less of the higher frequency overtones than the M15, which, in my mind, is a good thing. I highly recommend the CWF, I really love it, and it's a great step-up from my Vandoren M30.

The CWF is my ensemble mouthpiece and I'm very happy with it.
I especially like it because it plays sharper than my Vandoren M13 (series 13). I use the Vandoren when I play with a pianist. The CWF allows me to play "up" with the orchestra, especially on my A clarinet which plays horrendously flat with the M13. I play Vandoren V12 4s (with Eddie Daniels Rovner ligature, thick plate) on both pieces and that works well for me. The CWF and a 64mm Chadash barrel on my Buffet R13s and I'm good to go. Gotta pull the barrel on my Bb, but the CWF + 64mm = good intonation on my A relative to the rest of the orchestra. With my teacher's guidance, I switched to a closer setup (used to play Vandoren 5RV 13) and it has worked out quite well.

The CWF mouthpieces are very good mouthpieces. They are well worth a try.

Clark W. Fobes is a dear friend and great mpc maker!
I use his mpcs on all the clarinets that I play professionally here in NYC.
Clark can make any of his mpcs work well for you. He is very accessible.
Try them, you won't find a better mpc anywhere, IMHO!
Check out my resume, I have been around for a while.
