Hi all,
Anyone got recommendations for clarinet shops in London or near London?
I do go to Howarths of London but was thinking of others. Wish to try the Yamaham CSG(s)
Also, where can I find information about wwind or clarinet exhibitions like the ClarFest that takes place in Europe etc? Thought it might be a good opport to see such fests and like many forum pple, able to look and try different instruments.
I found out about the Musikmesse in Frankfurt a bit too late... :S
Thanks.

I like Woodwind and Reed in Cambridge. And you can go to the Botanical Gardens afterwards...

The only other place apart from Howarth would be Chappells. I believe they also sell clarinets there as well as a good selection of sheet music downstairs

Dawkes in Maidenhead (not too far out of London) have a very large stock of instruments and provide a good service and generally competitive prices.

Howarths stock the Yamahas, and I know from recent "hands on" experience Dawkes have the full set of CSGllls. The short train ride out to Maidenhead is straightforward. Chappells normally only only carry a few instruments in stock, and not generally the top end models, so worth a phone call first.

You could try the CASS website, which has a regional events tab. You can set Europe as one of the regions - but its blank at the moment and I cant remember how much advance notice the magazine gives on non-UK events.
