Hi, I have bought a 2 3/4, 3 1/4 legere signature clarinet reeds a few days ago.
The 2 3/4 is in old package, and the 3 1/4 is in new package. I find that their strength are nearly the same. Is it normal or Legere change the strength when they change the package?
Have anyone have the same experience?
Thanks.

I recently got the classic reed exchanged by the company in Canada. I would say they have made them softer too, but I do not know by what degree.
They have also added "reed" like texture to the top. It doesn't feel as oddly smooth now if you're transitioning from reed to plastic.
Overall I'm pretty happy still, I may just need to adjust by a 1/4 size, I didn't notice a full 1/2 change in resistance.

Hi Caleb:
I'm glad you're trying the new Legere reeds, they really are terrific!
You may have received and old package of a Legere reed, as the strengths do remain quite similar from reed to reed of the same strength with all their new reeds.
I recommend the Signature Series Legere as they are the most consistent and sound as good as any cane reed, if not better.
It's a matter of finding the right strength for you, then purchasing that strength over again. Place the reed all way up even with the tip of your mouthpiece & very even side to side. This is very important in trying & playing on the new Legere synthetic reeds. The new Synthetic reeds will take a short time to get accustom to, so be patient.
It is important remember Legere will take any reed back for an exchange if you haven't tampered with it. So just return the reed(s) you don't like. What other reed manufacturer can offer that exchange guarantee?
