Now, let's see if you can help me with this. I just bought an old E flat clarinet on our swedish auction-site Tradera. Most for curiosity. I like old instruments and making adjustments so I can use them.
I payed about 250 dollars. It came by post (!) today. Its a nice little thing. Albert system and in very fine condition. Actually I was a little suspicious: The wood is extremely well kept, nice polished, and the keywork excellent. The mouthpiece is in wood so its a little tricky to blow clean and bright. There is only one little crack in the barrel, but no leakage.
Now my questions: Age? And is it possible to trace the manufature? There are two small stamps "Es" at the lower joint and the barrel. That could of course mean E flat (in swedish we say "Ess").
I guess it's not Evette&Schaeffer ;-)
I would appreciate any help with this
Best regards
Magnus

"Es" means E flat in German and Dutch and may be some other languages too. If that is the only marking on the instrument it is difficult to trace a manufacturer.
