I am looking for very thin mouthpiece patches. I found Yamahas that are .5mm, and Vandoren that are .4mm. Any other patches out there that are even thinner? Thanks for any help.

The Vandorens I use are .35mm (or so says the packaging). Any particular thickness you're looking for?

Not sure yet.
I play double lip, but these days I occasionally switch to single when fatigued. Want to have a patch that I can leave on when playing double. I have some patches lying around here, I think they are in the .8 neighborhood, and they are too thick.

I use 3M auto paint protection film. I think it's exactly the same thing as the commercial patches except that a roll of 1" tape will last you about 20 years unless you reface mouthpieces. Just cut a wedge, nip off the corners. I couldn't find the roll like I bought years ago, but I think this is the same thing. It's 8 mil, which is about .3mm. I bought some paint protection film from Griot's Garage at one point and it might be thinner but is hard and slippery to the teeth.

Cut up a marigold glove, or one of a more suitable color, and then apply an adhesive, such as double sided tape to the back, cut and apply. Has to be a heavier duty. They're cheap and you can replace them when they inevitably turn nasty.
