Hoping someone can help...
I am trying to find an old style (non-angled) bass clarinet neck that will fit a Yamaha YCL 221 II. The new angled neck drops the clarinet down to the point that my right wrist is in pain after playing just a short time.
I did contact Yamaha, who have no used ones available. They indicated the old style necks were made by Leblanc, not Yamaha.
Probably a long shot but does anyone know where I might be able to get one?

Try Pacific Winds (Morrie Backun's shop, I believe it is) --- they seem to have a lot of 'new old stock' stuff for clarinets of various sizes.

I have a Vito bass clarinet that I don't use. I believe these were the same model as the yamahas that were made by leblanc. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to find a cheap beat up broken vito and just take the neck, or even just find a Vito neck on ebay or so. It's worth a shot.

I agree. I also heard that Morrie bought a whole bunch of stuff from the Leblanc factory in Kenosha when it was closed a couple of years ago so there is probably a decent chance he has one of the necks you need.

The Vito neck is still available through parts suppliers if you want to part with $150 or so.

Does it fit the newer Yamaha 221? Both physically and how it plays.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I did follow up with Morrie Backun who says the Leblanc/Vito/Selmer necks will not work with the Yahama 221, either for fit or tuning.
For anyone else who doesn't like the new angled necks, he suggested a good tech can re-angle the neck without too much difficulty.
