PS: Orsi also makes an Ab sopranino:

Any opinions on Orsi clarinets?
Thanks!

I know very little about Orsi.
In 2006, I met a fellow at ClarinetFest who had one in rosewood and gold that he'd ordered by phone from his hotel room in Italy. It was delivered to his room the following afternoon. In a small case, waiting in line for the Klezmer class, it looked absolutely beautiful.
At that ClariinetFest, I met John Weir, who was cooperating with Orsi to manufacture Orsi & Weir clarinets in Canada. I think that the bodies were delivered as "parts" to him, assembled and then bodies, barrels and bells matched to make the completed instruments. I have to admit to a strong lust for one that he had at his booth; but settled for an extremely reverse-tapered barrel.
John is a qualified acoustician, specializing in clarinet design, and his wife is an accomplished clarinetist. They now run a company called Taplin-Weir that can be found at this link:

I consulted with them about a problematic Buffet R13 A clarinet, and they knew, from the symptoms I reported, what was wrong with the clarinet. (oversize reaming from the top of the upper joint caused sharpness in the high clarion).
You might take the Weirs to lunch and worm the authoritative story of Orsi clarinets from them.
