I am considering purchasing a Wiseman case to hold an A and Bb clarinet, with two barrels each. They are quite expensive, so it would be a bit of an investment but worth it if they keep my clarinets safe!
If anyone has any advice or opinions about these cases (or better ones!) that'd be great

Just be aware that they are 'ROUND.' In using a bass Wiseman I curse the architecture every time the case is open because it doesn't sit OPEN, it wants to roll partially closed. If you can get past that, they are very sturdy and when closed they carry well.
A good 'standard case' that really protects the horn is the BAM double case.

The Wiseman cases are good and sturdy though they are heavy. Other cases I would recommend are the Marcus Bonna case, which is my current case and the Bam trekking case and the new lighter Bam trekking case which can fit concert clothes in.

I second the Marcus Bonna case! It is very lightweight and sturdy, and it is insulated enough to help guard against temperature changes.
I also love that I was able to get one in purple, tee hee. You can get it in any color imaginable.

Does anyone know if the Bonna cases hold music folders (the large ones) as well as the BAM Trekking cases?

I guess you mean the two sides try to close as if something is pushing the middle? Anyway, mine doesn't do that.

Well, with the bass (a heavy instrument) the curve of the outside surface makes it want to colapse upon the hing. Give me a good ol' rectangular case any day.

IMO, the Wiseman cases are among the best constructed, most protective cases currently available. They are indeed quite heavy and expensive, but they are the only thing I trust to carry my Buffet 1193 bass clarinet, well worth the peace of mind, and it will also carry my B flat and A clarinets simultaneously if needed. They are much more easily carried on public transportation of all types than the standard bulky "coffin" square cases, and employ straps for backpack use as well. The velcro straps can be noisy to open backstage, but unless you are very late for a service, this should not be a problem. Mr Wiseman is also currently offering his cases in a much lighter yet equally strong carbon fiber material, also expensive, but more easily portable. Highly recommended.

For a double case, go BAM over wiseman.
Go wiseman for bass clarinet or triple/quad case.

I find the wiseman cases to be overweight and exceedingly ugly. I join the crowd in suggesting the Bonna case if you can find it. Bam is a fantastic second choice.

Thank you all, I'm taking a look at the MB cases now. I was just tempted by Wiseman because they do the removable inserts as well, and I do quite a lot of Eb work as well.
I'll do some more research!
