I was wondering if anyone had ordered a Ridenour clarinet from the UK, and if so whether it was easy, how long it took, and what happened if there were any problems

I can't speak about importing a Ridenour clarinet specifically but I did import a clarinet from the UK to the US a while back and it wasn't a problem. It took a little over a week for it to be delivered if I recall correctly. I'd suggest sending an e-mail to Tom Ridenour ( http://www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com/contact.htm ) and asking him about international purchases. Considering that he has a special phone number for international orders I suspect he is probably set up to ship just about anywhere.

Some while back I ordered from Tom his reed sanding system into the UK and that arrived fine, took about 1 week, no problems.
I also bought in an Eb clarinet from Canada a few years ago and again no problems. However you do have to pay import duties on all goods over a certain modest limit (About £30 I think).

I ordered one of Tom's reed surfacing systems from WWBW - it took four days to arrive with absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Can't comment about UK to US, but I frequently ship clarinets between UK, USA, Canada and Australia with no problems. Normally takes about 10 days from UK to Oz, perhaps 15 from US and Canada to Oz.

Was that message meant for me and, if so, how do I contact you via email?

I bought a Ridenour lyrique about 2 years ago and had no problems with the shipping, I contacted Tom by email about the order and also spoke to him on the phone, he was very helpful and a great person to deal with, the clarinet has also been very good
