I nominate Steve Hartman for the 2011 award for the most succint and true answer to a question on this board.

A great synopsis of the process of clarinet selection.
What was Harold Wright's main criteria for selecting a mouthpiece?

Kinda makes you wonder how those whom play period instruments, with all their inherent "deficiencies", make music their profession.

I knew he was a shooter, but I didn't know he did videos on the subject. I'm not into .380s, but the Walther is a fine weapon.

Well, that we are slowly progressing from a median level of "banality" on the BBoard to one of "pointlessness."
2nd amendment arguments aside, which matter little to those from other countries, are we really to the point of posting clips/speaking of the differing virtues of varying caliber hand-guns? Really?
If that is the case, then sign me up for one of our stupid little "What ligature do you recommend for my 2009 Bb R13 Festival Greenline with a "Zinner" mouthpiece, V12 #4 reeds, with a 66mm Moenning barrel?" discussions.
*Disclaimer* No insults to God implied. Though I'm not sure if he has paid his membership fees this year. -Mark, check the records.

It's ok for clarinetists to have other hobbies and interests. Yes, this is a clarinet bulletin board so we probably should keep it more clarinet-related, but I have no problem knowing that a prominent and outspoken clarinet designer has other interests.
I have other hobbies too. This is but one of a few bulletin boards I check regularly!!!

For what it's worth, when I use my 2010 R13 Festival (non-greenline) with a zinner based mouthpiece and size 4 reeds and moennig barrel, I use the Rovner Eddie Daniels ligature (now I believe they call it a "versa"). Works for me. Although it is a legere signature reed if that makes a difference.

I want to some more videos on his new wooden clarinet.
