 Performing Artists with Albums
Author: dtiegs

As a young musician, I often am awed by videos on the internet showcasing other clarinetists abilities. I understand that to get better, I have to listen, just as a child will have to observe an adult walk before they themselves walk.

I want to be exposed to the real deal. I do not plan on being a major performing artist, I think I have a fat chance becoming one. I only plan on playing music as a hobby, something that I am able to relieve my stress from my future occupation.

Are there any particular artists, with albums, that you find to be exemplary examples?

You should start by listening to the most famous clarinettist out there:
-Ricardo Morales
-Sabine Meyer
-Charles Neidich
-Karl Leister
-Stanley Drucker
-Julian Bliss
-Ernst Ottensamer

There are many other which I didn't mentioned.

Another thing you can do is to listen to orchestral music. If you find and orchestra that you like and you like the clarinettist you can search for his/her name and check if you find some solo work you can listen to.

I hope this is of some help; and please excuse my bad english.

Itunes gives 90 second free previews for tracks longer than 2'30" or so.
