Our clarinet choir, Clarinet Playing Friends, lost one of its first chairs, Dr. Jim Moneyhun, last week. We had played two Christmas programs just the week before, so his death was a shock to all of us.
Jim was a retired primary care physician, known for his soft spoken kindness. From his obituary:
His love for music began as a young child. During his career at Purdue, he was concert master with the Purdue Symphonic Band for two years. He has continued his love of music with the Anderson University Community Concert Band, Lapel Community Band, Clarinet Playing Friends, and formerly the Indianapolis Municipal Band.
The choir had the honor of playing the prelude music at his funeral. His clarinet was laid across the casket spray of roses.
God grant him eternal rest.

I offer my condolences as well. What a lovely tribute to him, having the clarinet choir play at his funeral and having his clarinet laid across his casket.
