Please tell me what the prefered tunes for the clarinet are as opposed to those for the trumpet.
Would you give me a list of melodies?
Thank you.

The Clarinet was developed after the Trumpet as a concert instrument.
Most Baroque stuff in the clarinet's frequency range must be transcribed for performance.
Also, the Mordents, turns and other ornemantation are basically unaccepted for use in the clarinet. (Not that you couldn't make the sound, it just isn't commonly done.)
Lots of violin stuff could also be transcribed, but will encompass some challenging leaps between octaves.
I recommend looking over Telemann, if you are considering some trumpet pieces, they are well within the skill level of a good player on the clarinet.
