stock mouthpiece on B&H alto plays sharp even worse higher up example sometimes f sounds like g and g sounds like a ect. ect .Will a better mouth piece correct this stuffy sound and what kind.I have played bflat clar and sax for years never had this problem on them.Iuse a ottolink #6 -#3vandoren, and a vandoren5vr lyre with a #5 mitchel or vandoren#4 slightly sanded on clar.

My Buffet basset horn came with a Vandoren B40 alto mouthpiece, which works fine for me. I heard the B40 suits a softer set up, so it might help you remove the stuffy sound by moving to softer reeds. Don't know if it could possibly help with tuning though.
