 An Etude?

I am interested in the All-state Honor Band program in which to audition for, you have to play two etudes (one slow, one fast), all major and minor scales, and chromatic.
After embarrassingly learning what an etude was yesterday and looking to impress the judges, my first instinct was to come to CBB.

What is the hardest/challenging etude you know of?
Do you happen to have a digital copy of all major/minor scales?

For a digital copy of major/minor scales, they should be able to found almost ANYWHERE. Scales don't change per instrument, and so there's no real copyright on the scales themselves. Do a little internet searching and I guarantee you can find them.

As for etudes, I wouldn't necessarily jump straight to the "hardest/challenging" ones. I would suggest picking one that, yes, is technical and challenging, but it's much better to play a less challenging etude PERFECTLY than it is to flub/fake your way through a more challenging one.

You can't go wrong with the 32 Etudes and 40 Etudes of C. Rose. Ask your teacher for suggestions as to which ones to learn.

Rose are dull. Try the Uhl, JeanJean, Jettle, Kroepsch to name a few.

The Kroepsch come in gestures just a few measures long.

For your slow, expressive etude, take a look at the 16 studies you can download free from the LeBlanc web page. These are the 16 slow ones from the Rose 32, but with very useful mark-ups by Bonade.

Thanks Bob for the online etudes!
I will check on those very soon but I don't want to commit myself too early.
Thank you Davy. I hear that one is very popular
Thank you cigleris, I would have never known that they existed!

Oh CBB is such a huge help. It is like being part of a hundred member clarinet section.
