I've just had a +/- 125yr old W.D.Cubbit & Son (London, UK) A clarinet restored. It has some sort of pre-Boehm / simple system fingering (Albert or Oehler system maybe?)
A few questions:
1) Any suggestion on how to find out what fingering system it actually does have?
2) Assuming it IS in A (there's an 'A' above the makers name) could anyone point me to a fingering chart, please? I'm not a clarinetist (well, not yet!).
3) Does anyone know anything about the history of these makers?
Thanks,
Jeff

The Otto Langey series clarinet tutors definitely have charts for both Boehm and simple system models and these are still available in the UK.
However they can often be bought from second hand stores, charity shops or on "that" website at much lower costs.
The finger system is identical for a Bb or A clarinet.
