Yamaha 72 and Mouthpiece Advice

I just bought a Yamaha 72 which is now being shipped. I know results vary, but I would be interested in knowing what mouthpieces people have found helpful (and not) for producing a rich tone. On my old wooden Frank Holton Collegiate my favorite has been a Selmer
HS*. A close second is the Vandoran M13 Lyre. I found the B45 too free blowing (squeaks). I use a #3 or 3.5 reed, lately Mitchell Lurie 3.5.

Any advice will be appreciated, hijackers (on all topics Yamaha 72) are welcome!

Hi LJ,

Yamaha 72 is a fine instrument. I have an 82, and the intonation and comfortable keywork are really wonderful. They don't take any special mouthpiece, so if you already like an HS* and an M13, they should work great on the 72. I also like the M15 and M30, although my favorites are the Richard Hawkins model B and model R.

Thanks. I was concerned because I saw somewhere on this board that some clarinets don't respond well to certain mouthpieces. The Clarinet has traveled from SC to Utah, Northern California bound, can't wait!
