Help! I booked a concert for my woodwind quintet in Dec, but they don't want to hear our 'normal' rep. they specifically asked for holiday music, but not too 'christmas-y', festive without being a sing-along. Any of you folks know of good ww5tet music that would suite this concert that's already available for WW5tet? I've already started some transcriptions but this will take a very long time!

2nd suite by holst is "festive". "American Folk Suite" is a fun and quick tune. "Three Easy Dances" "Shanties", plenty of stuff out there. Not really holiday oriented, but upbeat and fun to listen to.

What is your "normal" rep?
A suite of "Christmas Carols from Poland" by Douglas Brooks-Davies looks intriuging. The score is at free-scores.com; contact him for the (free) parts.
I should think that you can't go wrong with major-key Baroque dances. Just about any Bach, Handel, etc. should work.
Bill Holcombe's "Festive sounds of Hannukah" (sp?) is normally a band or orchestra piece, but evidently there's a WW5 version of it too.
Whichpond Music carries an arrangement of "Gesu bambino".

Not sure if you are looking for particularly "wintery" themed things, or secular holiday, or what.
here are some ideas for "wintery" themes that are not specifically identified with the Christian holiday:
"Troika" from Lt. Kiji Suite- Prokofiev (commercially available in WW5 arrangement)

"Let it Snow" -- available commercially

There are gobs more. But these should get you started, if this is the direction you are heading.
Oh, you might also consider doing excerpts from "The Nutcracker". There are several quintet arrangements available for various parts of that.

Thanks all for your wonderful suggestions! Our original program was to include Klughardt, Nielson, Cambini, some short Debussy pieces and other short traditional works for WWQtet. the director of our venue had a change of heart (Dec 21 is the concert date) and basically asked if we could do a holiday-esque concert but without anything too christmas-caroly which confused me alot. thanks for all of your help/advise!

A few possibilities:
Liadov, Eight Russian Folksongs (arr. for ww5) (Masters Music Publications)
Twelve Christmas Carols (arr. for ww5 by Mark Miller (pub. by Mark Miller)
(good, somewhat quirky arrangements as I recall - not "sing-alongy")
We usually included a suite from Fiddler on the Roof or a Klezmer piece or two. Two pretty good arrangements are "Klezmer Music" by Donald Draginski (available from the composer), and "Two Hassidic Dances" (arr. by Edward M. Benyas - available from TrevCo Music and a little pricey). At least one, and possibly both of these are also available from Walter Grabner.
