I'm posting this on behalf of a blind colleague who would like a <i>simple</i> method of writing out lead-lines + chords for other (sighted) musicians on jazz gigs.
The current method of doing "big" jobs, such as scoring string b/g's, is to play/dictate to an amanuensis (ie - helper)...however for "small" tasks this is a bit cumbersome.
A lot of the standard sequencing/notation software will accurately play back what's been put in, but really needs someone to "verify" the print-out.
So we're asking around, punching key-words into Google, etc...
...any leads?
thanks - deebee

Have you tried to chage the printing size of the printer output? There are some good scoring softwares out there that just might do the job for you. I will try to do some research at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio, Texas, this weekend and try to get back to you if I find out anything. Please contact me by e-mail on the early part of next week and I will reply if I find out anything.
I gave a private lesson the other day to a flute player who is visually handicapped (Junior High level) who memorizes all of her music, and played in a duet for contest this past week end. I haven't heard how she did but I was amazed at her understanding and concentration on what she was doing. Best of luck in your quest.
