I have an old 1936 BUFFET Bb clarinet. The original mouthpiece is too to play.So I am wondering to buy a new one.The clarinet seems to have a larger bore then today's BUFFETs.Which mouthpiece should I buy?Any suggestions?

Any mouthpiece on the market designed for use with Boehm system clarinets should work with it.

You need to try several mouthpieces to find one that works well for you. Some retailers will have an inventory that you can test, as do on-line retailers and mouthpiece makers.

You'll need to avoid scratching them so that that you can return the ones you don't like. Use at least electrician's tape over the beak so that your teeth don't mar the mouthpiece, and be careful with your ligature so as not to scratch them.

Be sure to have several good reeds in different hardnesses so that you'll have a match for each mouthpiece.

Good luck!
