Thank you all for previous help on mouthpieces and so forth, but I discovered a reason for all my recent dilemma for my wooden clarinet...I had two leaks.
And a realization why this ended up in my closet for so long...I thought I just could not handle the reed...I thought I was going to develop colon problems or something by playing this thing.
Grin.
Well, now I know why I could not hit certain notes.
Notes that required my right fingers that is.
Well, to top that off, I am super excited.
Now that these two pads have been replaced, my tuner shows me that some notes that I tried on the chromatic tuner are dead on, barrel perfectly on and not adjusted whatsoever...a perfect A# when playing a C. I am overwhelmed with delight. (Howbeit, I have not checked super low or high notes yet.) But, I do realize that weather might change intonation of course on another day...it was a warm sunny day when I tested it.
Someone here mentioned previously that my barrel may have experienced an adjustment prior to my ownership, and I think he was right!
Furthermore, I am finding a perfect place with my Vandoren B45 mouthpiece and a number 1 1/2 reed. I just can't believe how I have progressed in these past few days. So thankful. So happy.
I wish you all a wonderful day of playing as well.
