 Bent key mystery-Selmer France bass clarinet

Hi all, This is a partial picture of a Selmer 33 France low C clarinet lower joint. I suspect that the lever arm above one of the big pad cups )on the right) is misaligned (bent). It just doesn't look right when compared to the other big pad cup that is to the left of the picture.

What do you all think? Could it have been designed this way (skewed at an angle)
