it does not compare! I play in a community band. the other bass clarinet player bought a Wisemann online and only after a few months noting but problems. No one will work on it locally. I neded up finding and buying a used vito for him to use. I do play a Ycl221ll and absolutely love mine with grabner mouthpieces.

Yeuch, that beast is more expensive than a Yamaha...
I wonder why someone would buy it instead of a Yamaha, or a Bundy.

Is there any difference such that be better one than the other?

Is it safe to assume this "Wisemann" instrument is made in China? If so, please see previous threads on the topic "CSO" (which does not stand for "Chicago Symphony Orchestra" in our context).

I'm almost sure i'm going to buy a Yamaha, but the question is: 221 or 221 II?
The price is diffrent in fact, but is there noticeable differences, really ?

The YCL221 was the previous model and is not offered unless a store still has them. The 221II is the updated version with an adjustable thumb rest and angled neck.

Not sure how it was for the 221, and it if a large difference from the 220 of past.

I bought my 221II new a couple years back from wwbw for around 1600 they went up the next year to 1800. they come up used regularly. If you travel alot the compact case is great but does not allow from alot of internal storeage.

I'm pretty sure the Wisemann is a Chinese clarinet (a local store sells them). They are (very) similar to other Chinese bass clarinets. I've tried many of those already and don't think they are CSOs. Actually IMO it isn't true anymore that all Chinese clarinets CSOs. Used to be true but now there are many decent ones.

Eventhough I don't think the Chinese bass clarinets are especially bad, they are still no where near a Yamaha IMO. Or even some other more reputable student model bass clarinets. The Yamaha 221 and 221II are both good. I don't remember what the differences are. The older 220 (actually a Vito) is also better IMO than the Chinese bass clarinets.

I found the Wisemann for about $2,100 online. It's absurd it costs that much. Maybe there are some specific things to do with the Wisemann bass I'm not aware of but I've seen the Wisemann soprano clarinets... it should definitely cost less than the Yamaha 221(II).

There's a newer model Chinese low C bass being offered by Gear4Music which appears to have a RH low D key:
