 Mahler Symphony No. 1
Author: ShelleyL

Hello. I play in a community symphony that will be performing Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in October. I am trying to find the fourth movement for 2nd clarinet transposed for Bb clarinet. I called Luck's this morning and they don't have that part. Does anyone know where I could get this part?

Thank you!!

Shelley

I did it by hand once. Doesn't take that long. Mainly C parts if they are in weird keys such as C# or something horrible. Transposing is really the best way, and great experience to learn.

Try Dales Music in Silver Springs, MD They carry a lot of music.

I played Mahler 1 earlier this year and just sight-transposed it fairly easily. Most of it is just minor scale and arpeggio type stuff, I recommend just sitting down and figuring it out.

If time doesn't permit you could always try to borrow a C clarinet from someone ...
