Hey all. You'll all be happy to know that this will hopefully be the last message I'll need to post regarding buying a new Eb. If you remember, I've been tossing up between the R13 Eb and the Patricola. Well, I have finally come to my decision (I think). I have tried an R13 a few months ago and thought it was quite good. Today I had the opportunity to playtest a fairly new Patricola Eb owned by a local clarinet technician and I thought it was great. Good value for money too. I used a tuner and tested all registers... I found it to be generally not too bad except the throat Bb was quite sharp. Using his B40 mouthpiece with V12 reeds, the tone was really nice. So anyway, enough rambling... thanks for all your help with offering advise and getting the american retail prices for me etc.

Congrats, Nick!
The Patricola is a full Boehm, isn't it? I'm envious.
Hope you have many great years playing your Effer.

No its not full Boehm..it comes standard with a left hand Eb key, and also when you play a throat Bb, there is an extra pad that opens up to give a better tone.

Please post when you get your Patricola how you you like it, and if you choose rosewood or Patricola- I'm also in the market to buy an eefer over the summer (once the bass is paid off!)
