I have my senior recital this semester and have the program mostly set. I'm planning on opening with the third movement of Malcolm Arnold's Sonatina. It's fairly short and something that will put me on ease on stage. I'm up for swapping this with something else like it though. Does anyone have any suggestions that fit this bill?

ooh. Fun. If you want to blow your face off, Copland Sonata Mov. III.
More seriously though...
-Gary Shocker Sonata II ,Mov III Giocoso
-Bela Kovaks, Homage to E. de Falla

Run on stage and smack them between the eyes with, say, the Martino Set for Clarinet. Once you establish your bona fides, you can play anything.
Don't forget the lollipop at the end -- for example, Meister's Erwin Fantaisie or perhaps one of the Gershwin pieces Jascha Heifetz transcribed for his own use.

I already have an unaccompanied work on the program (Sutermeister's Capriccio) and I'm actually ending the work with Kovac's After You Mr. Gershwin. I couldn't find a recording of the Schocker though...could you direct me to one?

Sean Osborn has recorded the Shocker Sonata No. 2 for Albany Records (TROY619). It is available from Arkiv Records, and Amazon Records on CD and also available as an MP3 download at Amazon (and probably other download sources).
Another possible opener might be the first of Gershwin's Three Preludes, arranged by Cohn.
Best regards,
