What strength reed should i order for the b40 lyre? I am looking at Vandoren reeds, Traditional, V12 and Rue Lepic. Many thanks for all the help i've gotten!

I play B40 Lyre 13. I find that Traditional 2.5 works best for me. This mouthpiece works best with pretty soft reeds.

I suggests strength 3 from both. They are all good for that mouthpiece, maybe the traditional has to be sanded down a bit. Trad. 2.5 can be too soft, and I like much better to work on a reed that has material to work with. V12 3.5 would be strong to me.
I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the B40/B40Lyre (Ok,I know that was not the question). The design is more or less the same as the B45, but the rails are even thicker and the resistance is higher. The best B40 I have tried had an irregular chamber design in some ways. My compliment was 'Oh that's pretty good! Doesn't seems to be B40 at all!'

I had used Nr 4 56s which turned out to be a bit too strong, so I would assume the same for the V12 3 1/2 which should be about the same strength. 3 in a Traditional or 56 sounds about right on the 'stronger' side.

I remember you said you used to use M30. I think you should just take 1 strength from what you used with M30. So if you used 4's before, now try 3's.
