The link isn't working, but from what I remember seeing is the C#/G# pad cup is a cross-mounted key and is only released when the C#/G# touch is pressed.

The RH rings close it with an adjusting screw linkage, so it works in exactly the same manner as an oboe/cor anglais articulated low C# key - your LH pinky definitely won't be forced up when the RH rings are closed.
