 Bass Clarinet Substitute for Bassoon
Author: Nathan Snyder
Date:   2011-08-18 18:23

I'm looking to perform Mozart Serenade in Eb and do not have bassoon players. Does any know if there are bassoon parts arranged for bass clarinet out there anywhere that I can print or download? Thanks!

If an Eb Contra-alto player was available, the transposition of the basson part would be easy, as has been disussed here before.

If you have access to an EEb contra-alto clarinet you can read the bassoon parts directly (the bass clef portions, that is -- doesn't work for tenor clef), pretend it's in treble clef and add three sharps. Pretty easy that way.
