Hi everyone,
I saw a number of friends from the BB at ClarinetFest and many tried Chedeville barrels and mouthpieces. Away from the heat (very hot in the exhibits hall) and sound (the background noise was high) what are your impressions. I had to repeat the history of Chedeville about a hundred times for the 85% of under 40 year olds that had only a vague knowledge of Chedeville and milled rod rubber mouthpieces but many BBers were hip.

O.K., I'm not hip. Are you the current owner of the moniker? I have not seen any advertisements to the effect. Perhaps there can be a better way to get the word out if this is the case.

Paul, there has been a fair amount of advertising and yes, my corporation has the name mark and trade mark for Chedeville these days. The Chedeville mouthpieces, barrels, and student mouthpieces were introduced at this years ClarinetFest which has just ended so they may be new to many.

Hi Omar. I'm glad you made a post to get feedback. I did try them out at ClarinetFest. I found that the sound was extremely warm and dark. I think I might have had just too hard of a reed when I tried them. I had a 3.5+ V12, so I think a 3.5 would have worked better. The only thing I found that I was surprised with was the facing on one of them seemed so off center, like the left rail so was so thin compared to the right rail. Sometimes it might not make a difference probably, because I wouldn't have noticed anything just playing right there at the booth. Didn't know if they were meant to be off like that. I found them a little stuffy, but like I said it could have been the reed I was using. The sound was very good. And personally, I thought they played better than the Behns, though the Behns were nice, I got a better sound with the Chedevilles and would pay for a Chedeville over a Behn for the sound I got and the price both are charging.

As per our advertising guidelines - I know the Doc wants some feedback, so if you'd like to send him some personally please feel free to do so, but not in the thread itself.
If, as an individual, you would like to start a thread then feel free to do so, but since this thread was started by a merchant asking for feedback we really need to keep the direct stuff to the Doc offline.
