 Release agent

I need to use epoxy/wood dust to plug a hole in a clarinet body which penetrates through to the bore. I plan to use flexible brass shim pressed against the inside of the bore by a block of compressed foam to provide a form for the bore end of the plug, but I'll need a release agent. I'd welcome any suggestions on what I propose and any suggestions about release agents. The clarinet is an old Pruefer, whick looks in good order apart from this. Looks like there was a small (4-5mm) knot in the timber near the middle joint tenon cap, and it has worked loose. I noticed it when I was replacing the cork, it came up with the old cork. This instrument had had a persistent feeling of stuffiness in the bottom end of the chalameau register which has so far defied me. Looks like this might nail it.

I've used Teflon tape (a.k.a. 'pipe thread tape' or 'plumber's tape') wrapped around a wooden dowel, for just the purpose you describe.

Many thanks for the tip, David. Worked like a charm.
