I recently came across the music for Rhapsody in Blue and Cuban Overture
by Gershwin to add to my classical collection for my listening pleasure and because I happen to like those two pieces more so than the others, but
I am curious as to how the clarinetist did the glissando at the beginning of the Rhapsody in Blue piece I would love to be able to do that and would put in the work and practice to do it, any advice from the pros would be greatly appreciated. I just started trying to find the sheet music for the two pieces above so still looking for them. thanks guys I did a search, sorry
I got caught up in the excitement and didnt think to do one firsthand. lots
of confusing info but I'll get thru it.

This has been discussed many times before on this board.
Suggest you try the search function.

Use the "Search" link at the top. Here are a couple of hits:

Clarinetists are taught to play with a nice stable embouchure and high tongue position, to get a nice centered tone. You will have to de-center things to bend pitch. As near as I can explain it, pull your jaw and tongue down. To start off, practice dropping and raising the pitch on a single note.
