I am thinking of upgrading the Buffet E13 mp - is there anything that is particularly recommended for this model? I am an intermediate sort of player and would like something free blowing but with a good sound....

I've got an older Evette and Schaeffer (which turned into the E13) and it works with pretty much every mouthpiece I have. In this case, I don't think you need to worry too much about matching the mouthpiece to the clarinet, but rather just picking a good mouthpiece. And THAT is where it gets interesting.....
Good luck on the mouthpiece search, but do yourself a favor and don't turn into ME with mouthpieces. I think that the money someone might spend buying and trying all sorts of mouthpieces (whether expensive or not), would be MUCH better spent with lessons.

There is no specific mouthpiece for a type of clarinet. For some good reasonable priced MP try several Vandorens. They make many types, they are available at most mail order stores to try and are not expensive. You have to try them to find the best fit for you. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

A section mate of mine has a nice E13; I've sampled it many times with a diverse selection of mouthpieces--all of them responded well and played in tune on the E13. Try as many as you can--you'll have little trouble finding one that works great with your E13.

As an alternative to any of the Vandoren brands (And if you don't mind spending the money) good makers are also Walter Grabner, Behn and Hawkins. Good Luck!
