Hi, it's me again, and I want all of the forumers in the Clarinet BBoard to suggest which mouthpiece is available at amazon.com (My mother only trusts this website for online shopping, and the yes, there is no great instrument stores that offer a wide variety of mouthpieces, and supplies and instruments for concert/symphonic instruments.)
For now, I am not interested in buying a 70$+ Vandoren Mouthpiece, for I am looking for a mouthpiece that produces great tone, great response, and best works with a reed strength of 3.
So far, I have found these potential mouthpieces.
For more information, I use an ancient Student Bundy Model, and the mouthpiece that came with it is ancient as well, and I really want a new mouthpiece, because the intonation of this clarinet is fine and all, might need to go repair some pads soon or whatever, but I don't want to hassle buying another clarinet again.
Mouthpieces:
- Selmer 7711-3 Goldentone #3 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece
- Rico La Voz Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece
- Yamaha Clarinet Mouthpiece 4C
- David Hite Premiere Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece
- Clark W Fobes Debut Student Clarinet Mouthpiece
Just wondering, cause any of you clarinetists might have experience with these mouthpieces, and could give me an insight on what to get.
(With a number 3 reed of course :D)

I bought a fobes debut a while back to try it and it was very very good. ESPECIALLY for the price. If you can find that on amazon, it's well worth it. Reed strength should be fine.

Some of the Bundys came with a mouthpiece marked "Geo. M. Bundy" in script. If your Bundy is so equipped, and the mouthpiece is not damaged, I would seriously suggest you stick with that--and invest your money in a Rovner Dark ligature instead.

Any eBay mouthpiece will run the risk of being damaged or badly worn. I would stay away and buy new.
The Fobes Debut is only $30.95. http://www.wwbw.com/Clark-W-Fobes-Debut-Student-Clarinet-Mouthpiece-471450-i1431731.wwbw. If you're studying privately, Fobes will send your teacher one free. http://www.clarkwfobes.com/debut.html
The plastic Yamaha 4C is an excellent student mouthpiece -- not quite as good as the Fobes but a bit less expensive at $25.50. <http://www.wwbw.com/Yamaha-4C-Bb-Clarinet-Mouthpiece-462505-i1143237.wwbw) One advantage is that it's carried at 100% of the musical instrument stores, so you don't need to get it by mail order.
The Hite will be good. The Goldentone will not.

I'll second what Ben says: the Behn Overture is very nice.

Fobes will send you one for free if you tell you are what he wants you to be in an email! Free and good, sounds like an easy decision really.

Red Chair,
In another thread, you wrote, "I also welcome the many and varied artists and craftsmen we are lucky to have today."
Suggesting someone lie to one of the best of them to cadge a free mouthpiece from him doesn't seem all that welcoming to me.
BTW, is "Rim Jobbie" really your name?
