third party barrels on Patricola Eb

Has anyone tried using a Backun or Forbes barrel on a Patricola Eb? Are there any fitting problems? Also, I use the short 40mm barrel that came with the instrument, but it appears the shortest available third party barrel is 41mm. Overall the Patricola plays pretty well in tune, but I am just thinking about looking for that extra "a little better" intonation and tone that I might get with a different barrel.

The socket dimensions are standard.
I can give you bore dimensions privately.
