Indiana?

I'm traveling on business for a couple weeks to Columbus, Indiana, about 45-minutes south of Indianapolis. Can anyone recommend in that area a) a woodwind store where I can try out & purchase clarinet mouthpieces (or even instruments) and b) someone I might get a lesson from? - Thanks.

The Prowinds store is located about 48 minutes from there in Bloomington, right across the street from the Indiana University School of Music. I would try to email a teacher there for a lesson. That way you could check out instruments and work with a teacher in the same general place.

I second the suggestion to go to IU. Howard Klug and Eli Eban are there, both highly regarded teachers. I've taken a lesson with Eban and enjoyed it. Have not yet gone to visit Klug, but have been very interested to go to his summer workshop. (June 11-15 this year, just in case you're in town.)
