Thanks for the uploading, David!!
Your performance as 19 yr old was wonderful !! . Will you do it again at whatever age you will be? . I wish I could ever do clarinet for the piece!
Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (Shepherd on the Rock) is one of my most favorite piece of music by any composer, with any instrument. . By the way, my most liked performance is by Elly Ameling/ Hans Deinzer/ Jorg Demus.

Yup, playing it in 2 weeks - Pianist was Curtis Piano Faculty for 10 years, now heads AVA in Phila.
Ironically, I was asked to do it exactly 28 years after this recording.
Back then when I played it, there was no Itunes, no Internet, just LP's.
I had heard the Wright recording, but didn't own it. Between hearing Wright, Pay, Shifrin, Peyer, Etc. Etc - it's a daunting task, but they aren't available that night, so I get to try it.
Even the Principal Clarinet of La Scala had trouble with it.
I took 7 more years of lessons after that, have a way, way better Clarinet and Setup, and the maturity thing also.

Nice job! I really liked the pianist and especially how you made the soprano work at the end!

That's one of my favorite pieces and the piece I played at my first paid performance. I did it at a Temple in Queens, the only difference was, the singer was the cantor and was a tenor. Quite an interesting experience. Good job on your's too, by the way!
