Well... I just finished repadding my clarinet. And it sounds great and plays better than it has in years. Except, now, it is a whole half step low. I have to use the C# fingering for C, A# fingering for A, etc. Anyone know how to fix it? I have an Olds Bb clarinet. And I know I should probably just buy a new one, but as I am a full time college student, without a job, haha, I'm kind of broke and I'd really just like to save this one if I could.
Any help would be amazing. If not I'll see what the repair shop can do.
Thanks.

I have the tuner set to A= 440 I think. Maybe I have it set wrong. I'll see if I can tune it against another clarinet later.

That doesn't make any sense at all. You either have the tuner set way off or it is an A clarinet not a Bb. Check to see if there is something in the bore, something large enough to effect the pitch. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

What NOTE does the tuner say you are playing when you sound the normal tuning C (concert Bb) on your horn?

I have tuned against another clarinet and we've discovered that it is the tuner. It isn't set right. After I reset it, it said we were both playing A# when we played C. So I'm going to have to play with it a bit. It's not the greatest quality anyway. Thanks for your help.

Unless I am misunderstanding something here, the tuner SHOULD say A# when you are playing a Bb clarinet "C".
A# is the enharmonic of Bb, right?
A written "C" on a Bb clarinet sounds at Bb. Or A#. Take your pick.

Haha. Probably. My high school band didn't really go into specifics about all the other stuff that goes into music. We didn't learn about keys (BEADGCF) until my junior year when we got a new director, and I didn't have to memorize scales until my senior year. I'm a little behind in harmonics and such.
