That is good news. Looks like they will be looking for a new percussion section and some othe positions in the future.
Philadelphia is having financial problems. The Pew foundation or charitable trust opted not to toss some bucks their way. (Apparently they give money to them under several guises .....these trusts have many divisions).
The environment in the arts is different from the bygone era of the dowagers arriving on the Main Line Express.. No more little blue haired social butterfly ladies who went atwitter at Stokowski.....opening (ahem) their deep purses. Corporations want a bang for their buck, deductions, and tax breaks. Finances and endowments get so messed up,
