I am currently testing an R-13 A with the serial 59XXXX and would like to know the year of fabrication. I've got three coming to me fresh out of the factory in Paris but I'm enjoying this one right now and would like any input that anyone has about their clarinet from the 59XXXX serial family and what year the clarinet may be.
Thanks!

Ironically, I did that with my flat and the A's that I'm testing, and everytime it says it can't find the serial number. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you're not doing anything wrong. If you look closely at the message returned when you enter your serial number, you will see the lookup has a copyright date of 2006. A little experimenting disclosed that the highest serial number in the list is 570040, which was an R13 Bb clarinet made in January of 2007. Buffet haven't updated the list since then, apparently.
If you experiment entering serial numbers, you should be able to estimate Buffet's annual production of professional soprano clarinets and extrapolate your date of manufacture from that. Without actually going through the process, I would guess that the one you have was probably made in 2007 or 2008. If you contact Buffet, they can give you more precise information.
Best regards,
jnk
