Hi, my first post here. Thanks for this forum.
I saw a second hand Parimonti bass clarinet for sale for 1800$ but the guy lives a bit far so I can't try it before. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Their web site in Italy is very minimal and it looks like they stopped making bass clarinets. They're supposed to be all hand made. Any idea of whether these parimonti bass clarinets were professional or student level?

Not a Ripamonti? I have tried that brand at Frankfurt last year and I have to say they are very solid and decent horns for the price. The bass and contrabass clarinet was fine too, but I haven't tried enough instrument to judge the consistency of the whole brand. All I can say I liked the ones I've tried.

I also tried the Ripamonti bass and contrabass clarinets. The bass clarinet was decent in ways but overall I thought they were significantly less ergonomic and less even for the entire range than bass clarinets from Buffet and Selmer. The contrabass was nice in some ways (good tone) but also overall with ergnonomic and eveness issues especially in comparison with Eppelsheim.
