Tony Salimbene does excellent work at Roberto's in NYC, or at his house in Nutley, NJ.

What you look for is someone that has a good reputation first. Then someone that can give you a reasonable honest estimate of what needs to be done and about how much it will cost. Then of course, after you get your clarinet done try it at the shop and tell them if something doesn't feel right to you, not to them, so they can make adjustments, like the tension of the springs. They should make any minor adjustments without extra charge unless you want something major done of course. Always play the instrument before you leave and don't be intimidated by them. Some repair people are more personal than others. It has to feel right to you before you leave. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have recently moved here from Minnesota and standards here are different. I will report back after I find the 'one' :) Thanks!
