 breath support

Hi all!
Well, here I am trying to master scales, get an audition ready, and learn 7 new pieces for various ensembles and I have to get a terrible cold. Yuck! Long story short, I feel fine except I'm breathing like a fish out of water. Is there anything I can do to quickly get some of my breath support back or am I stuck building it back up? Thanks!

Basically you are congested and it will just have to pass on its own. Over the counter cold remedies will help but only time will really clear it up. Look for a decongestant.

To be honest, i dunno if anyone will agree, but i never take medicine becuase i dont believe in it and i get better quickly.
If you depend on medicine then it kinda weakens your system and so it relies on medicine but if you just use natural stuff like soup and stuff then your body heals itself.

Well in my experience it has i havent had a cold for about 6 years i think, so i guess it does work.

Anyway, i hope i helped in someway

Try, E.P.O, steroids and growth hormones ! ha ha ha.

Then, like Lance Armstrong you'll be able to breathe more efficently using less energy and last longer.

Nah.... don't listen to this...

You should probably try putting salty water through your nose. It's a pretty good system.

And about playing.... a real musician alwayz plays when he says he will play.. Even if he has to die for that. (Mozart is a good example).

Music is probably the best medicine on earth.

The salty water thing works for me! Ocean brand is great. Zinc lozanges may or may not.

But WASH YOUR HANDS in warm soapy water. The very best way to avoid getting and giving viruses.

DON'T Touch you mouth nose or eyes, unless you scrub up like a doctor first. That's how we get these bugs most often.

I am cerantly dealing with the same thing and I finally went to my Doctor, he said that there is a bad cold going around and the only way to help it is with persciption medicines. He also told me if I was going to continue playing with my cold I needed to have an inhailer. Something I learned a few years ago is if you are unable to play walking, running, or swimming will help your breath support.

Good luck!
