Tonight at 7:30pm Eastern members of the US Army Band and Army Strings will be performing a recital of works for clarinet and string quartet. The program includes quintets by Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, John Corigliano and W.A. Mozart. I don't know how many of your quintet are members of the Army Orchestra, but I heard that group at ClarinetFest '06 (?) at the University of Maryland, "backing up" Ricardo Morales, and I was at least as impressed by the orchestra as by Morales.

Dave,
If I'm correct, any string player in the army (save for upright/electric bass) is automatically part of the Army Orchestra. The only "string" slots in active, reserve, and national guard bands are Guitar and Bass guitar.
